As the title suggests, how do you take out the original radio? We have brought a new one and were just wondering if there is a special way you need to do it before we start.

I have tried the search forums and couldn't find anything so if there was, a link would be fantastic.

Thanks to all of you that have replied.

Well, it had 6 hours to cool down. I've just walked to where I parked it armed with plenty of water. Filled it up and drove it the 600m home.

Funny thing is the motor is running fine. I actually had it in the MTQ workshop just 50km ago because the turbo relief valve thing was blowing off. They hooked it up and said it was way more powerful than it should have been, hence the turbo blow off under load. They tweaked the fuel pump so it produced less power and fitted a new expansion bottle at the same time. All seemed fine, for a while.

I suppose I'm going to have to fix radiator first, flush out the entire cooling system and then get a mobile radiator mechanic to check it all out.

Not feeling too optimistic right now, having read a lot of cylinder head horror stories this afternoon.

Can anyone tell me what's involved with just replacing the plastic header part of the radiator. Is it a DIY job? Or is it better to replace the entire radiator?

I thought your insurance company ws there to work for you it not gonna cost thema sent they will recover it all from the other insurance company. Make sure they write it off and get you max payment tell them you get an offer fo 6900 for it a week agao but the guy didnt come up with the money.

Okay.......... no to Patrol..
But am considering a Pajero at this point..
TRUE FACT

Ands rabs.. I know she's F*&^%$...
Currently she is at Brendale at panel repairers..
But Monday I have organized with Shannons to truck her to Rocklea to QMR.... who performed a whole pile of work on her within the last couple of mths..
So that they can compare the Pink Delica before and after the smash mechanically.. I have requested they do this on my behalf..
I don't trust joe blow at tom and freddys mechanic shop.. ( ficticious names )
Apparently.. us " backyard mechanics " here on Delica club don't know enough to tell Shannons.... what should be obvious..
******* BIG NOTE........... " backyard mechanics " is NOT my words either..... just something that was mentioned recently by someone to do with this..

Hopefully this will resolve soon....
Before another screaming match.. with Shannons assessor... who I need to start recording... everytime I speak to him

Just another trivia question my dear club members who I trust....
If my Delica were to recieve a pretty up panel job..
Knowing what she's been through physically.. structurally with the ram..
And just the towbar dropped off and replaced...
What do you reckon my Delica would be worth to sell now.. if no mechanical type repairs where done...

Try cheapest things first . is the thermostat stuffed ,easy check take it out completly refill with water not gylchol or you may waste it if its the head and try it for a short run . wont do no harm happens a lot in the UK and hard water (limescale) were we lived, Had a Ford Escort 1975 and lost water and all we could top it up with was Lemonade , hoots worked till we got home 120 miles and flushed it out.
